It amazes me sometimes how time slips by without me noticing it. I am glad that I have photos as proof as well as to refresh my memory. Grandkids seem to change and grow so quickly.
Speaking of change... I added a couple of things to the kids' room. The first photo is blackboard Wallies that adhere to the wall. This is a drawing that Connor completed. I think it was an expressive work and not meant to be anything specific.
I also found these wallpaper wallies that go on the wall like wallpaper. I like how they add some color and movement to the walls.
I have observed in males the need to create weapons. This is not a learned behavior. It must be a part of the male gene from the start. Boys can create weapons from anything. You can see an example of this in the photo below how Mason had a weapon, ready to shoot at his brother with little work. All the time, I am standing there telling him not to poke his brother's eye out. Connor had a weapon as well but moving targets are hard to get photos of while refereeing the battle.
Play is serious business. Observe the two photos and notice the level of concentration. Now, I doubt this will continue into the school years but one can hope.
I couldn't resist these cubes. They are great for stacking as well as an instant table when you are playing restaurant.
Trucks are essential in play. There is a balance between the cooking part of play and the "rough and ready" part. Along with playing with trucks is the noise that goes along with any movement. Of course, Connor is going to make sure he has enough passengers in his truck. I am glad to see he is trying to conserve gas.
I am trying to add some appreciation for nature. Connor is attempting to look at the birds on the patio but I need to work on how to use binoculars. At least he knows they are for looking through.
Mason and Connor really did some serious play today. I enjoy a new perspective through the eyes of a toddler. It is easy to get caught up in the day to day jobs that have to be done and forget to take time to play.
